R1211 Region Free Utility                             For the 122/163 range of drives only!

The R1211 utility will make the LiteOn Ltd-122, 163 and 163D  region free. It works for most OEM and rebadged drives as well.

• Find out on which IDE channel the drive is connected and if it's master or slave (how to find out)           
• The utility must be applied in real DOS mode, so restart Windows to DOS mode or reboot with a start-up diskette.
• At the prompt (C:\> or  A:\>) at the location where you've put R1211 type:  R1211 X OFF   only instead of the X should be a number: 1 if the drive is master on the primary IDE; 2 if it's a slave on the primary; 3 if it's master secondary; 4 is a slave on secondary (Don't forget the space before and after the number).
• Press the Enter (remove the diskette) and reboot.

The utility has been successfully tested with these firmwares: Ltd163: GV3Y, GH4F, GH4S, GH4W, GH5E, GH5K, GH5N, GH5P, GH5Q. Ltd163D: GHR3, GHR5, GHR6. Dell: GDH6, GDHA, GDHF, GIH3(Fujitsu-Siemens). It does not work with: GH4N, GHR2.
