Warning: Bad flash or flashing with a wrong firmware can ruin your drive!

There are currently 3 utilities for flashing binary firmware (not all working for all drives): • Mtkflash must run in DOS, flashes to a designated IDE port, can rescue misflashed ('dead') drives, can also extract (copy) the firmware from the drive and back it up.
• MtkWinFlash
runs in Windows, can flash detected or undetected drives at a designated IDE port,
can rescue misflashed drives, can not make a firmware backup. • LtnFW runs in Windows, flashes detected Liteon drives. Can extract firmware for backing up, can not rescue misflashed drives. Learn more about it at this dhc014's page and this cdfreaks thread. |
